Their average height is 18 inches and their average weight is 26 lbs. The name Terrier is derived from the Latin word "terra" which means earth. Terriers go to earth to catch vermin. They were bred to dig and root out animals like rats, mice, snakes, moles, rabbits, foxes, snakes and other unfavorable animals. Other breeds of dogs may also be found on this website.
